NBIIC-HI supports hospitals, clinicians, investigators, universities, research institutions, technical platforms, and international partners in developing structured clinical research and translational initiatives.
Through its Canada-based international platform, the Institute helps connect research concepts and emerging technologies with clinical expertise, institutional capabilities, multicentre collaboration, real-world evidence, and appropriate global partnerships.
Clinical research may begin with an unmet healthcare need, a clinical observation, a scientific hypothesis, an emerging technology, an available patient cohort, or a therapeutic concept requiring further evaluation.
NBIIC-HI helps participating teams clarify the clinical and scientific value of an initiative, identify suitable collaborators, develop an appropriate research framework, and explore responsible pathways for evidence generation and international cooperation.
The Institute serves as a coordinating and enabling platform and does not replace the scientific, clinical, ethical, regulatory, or administrative responsibilities of participating institutions.
NBIIC-HI supports the development of clinically relevant research initiatives involving hospitals, clinical teams, academic investigators, research institutions, and international collaborators.
Collaboration may begin with a clinical question, unmet healthcare need, scientific hypothesis, patient cohort, diagnostic approach, therapeutic concept, or emerging technology requiring further research.
Clinical Technology Evaluation helps determine whether an emerging technology addresses a meaningful healthcare need and what evidence may be required for further development, institutional consideration, or responsible clinical translation.
NBIIC-HI helps connect technology developers and research teams with relevant clinicians, hospitals, technical evaluators, and institutional partners.
NBIIC-HI does not issue regulatory approvals, clinical certifications, or independent endorsements of medical technologies.
Real-world and multicentre studies can generate broader evidence regarding patient characteristics, treatment outcomes, healthcare delivery, technology performance, and implementation across institutions and populations.
NBIIC-HI supports the early development and coordination of collaborative study networks involving hospitals, clinicians, investigators, and international institutional partners.
NBIIC-HI works with hospitals, clinical departments, clinical research centres, investigators, universities, technical platforms, and international partners to support clinically relevant research, evidence development, and translational collaboration.
Collaborative networks may be developed around a clinical specialty, research question, patient population, technology platform, multicentre study, or broader translational program.

Collaboration Scope: Collaborative hepatobiliary and oncology research; tumor metastasis and immune-mechanism studies; clinical tissue-based research and evidence development; translational oncology; academic exchange; international research collaboration.
NBIIC-HI collaborates with researchers affiliated with the Guangxi Clinical Medical Research Center for Hepatobiliary Diseases and the Affiliated Hospital of Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities in clinically relevant hepatobiliary and oncology research. Current collaborative work includes investigation of tumor liver metastasis, hepatic immune surveillance, Kupffer cell phagocytosis, and molecular mechanisms of cancer immune evasion.
This collaboration provides a foundation for further research in hepatobiliary oncology, tumor–immune interactions, metastatic disease, clinical tissue-based investigation, biomarker and therapeutic-target development, and broader international translational research initiatives.

NBIIC-HI collaborates with researchers from the Department of Cardiology at Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Shenzhen, in cardiovascular and translational research. Current collaborative work explores atherosclerosis, vulnerable plaque biology, macrophage ferroptosis, biomimetic nanomedicine, targeted therapeutic delivery, and systemic lipid metabolism.
This collaboration provides a foundation for further research in cardiovascular nanomedicine, atherosclerotic disease mechanisms, targeted therapeutic technologies, preclinical validation, lipidomic and metabolic investigation, and broader international translational research initiatives.

NBIIC-HI collaborates with researchers from the Department of Radiation Oncology at The First Hospital of Jilin University in oncology and translational biomedical research. Current collaborative work includes investigation of liver cancer, tumor microenvironment–mediated immune suppression, cancer-associated fibroblast-derived exosomes, myeloid-derived suppressor cells, and targeted therapeutic delivery.
This collaboration provides a foundation for further research in tumor immunology, extracellular vesicle biology, cancer-associated stromal interactions, targeted drug delivery, mechanism-driven therapeutic development, and broader international translational oncology initiatives.

Clinical and Research Focus: Urology; kidney injury and renal tubular biology; kidney transplantation and xenotransplantation; acute and chronic kidney disease; single-cell and integrative omics; programmed cell death and ferroptosis; renal injury biomarkers.

NBIIC-HI collaborates with researchers from the Department of Urology at Xinhua Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, in renal, urological, and translational research. Current collaborative work examines humanized porcine kidney xenotransplantation, renal proximal tubular injury, programmed cell death and ferroptosis, and molecular features associated with acute and chronic kidney injury.

NBIIC-HI collaborates with researchers from the Department of Gynecology at Huangjiahu Hospital of Hubei University of Chinese Medicine in reproductive and translational biomedical research. Current collaborative work investigates ovarian aging, oocyte quality, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and mechanism-guided therapeutic interventions involving natural bioactive compounds.
This collaboration provides a foundation for further research in female reproductive aging, mitochondrial quality control, oocyte biology, fertility preservation, natural-product pharmacology, multi-omics investigation, preclinical validation, and broader international translational research initiatives.

NBIIC-HI collaborates with researchers from the Department of Gastroenterology at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University in gastroenterology, hepatology, and translational biomedical research. Current collaborative work investigates metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, insulin resistance, hypertension, and the causal pathways linking hepatic metabolic dysfunction with cardiovascular risk.
This collaboration provides a foundation for further research in metabolic liver disease, liver–cardiovascular interactions, cardiometabolic complications, genetic epidemiology, large-scale genomic data integration, causal inference, and broader international translational research initiatives.
The network continues to expand, with additional hospitals, clinical research centres, and institutional partners to be added as collaborations are established and confirmed.

NBIIC-HI supports research development and international coordination but does not independently act as a clinical trial sponsor, ethics review body, regulatory authority, or healthcare provider unless formally authorized under an appropriate institutional framework.
NBIIC-HI welcomes enquiries from hospitals, clinical teams, investigators, universities, research institutions, and technology developers seeking to establish collaborative clinical research, technology evaluation, real-world evidence, or multicentre programs.
