Developing Collaborative Research Initiatives, Grant Opportunities, and Translational Partnerships.
NBIIC-HI serves as a Canada-based international platform for developing and coordinating collaborative research programs, grant initiatives, and translational partnerships.
The Institute supports direct collaboration between Canadian and international partners while also facilitating bilateral and multilateral initiatives among universities, hospitals, research institutions, clinical teams, and innovation organizations in different countries.
Through its Canada-based network and coordination framework, NBIIC-HI connects scientific expertise, clinical insight, institutional resources, and international partnership opportunities to help transform research concepts into structured initiatives with scientific relevance, collaborative value, and translational potential.
NBIIC-HI develops and facilitates international and cross-institutional research programs involving academic, clinical, research, and innovation partners worldwide.
These programs may connect Canadian institutions with international partners or use NBIIC-HI's Canada-based platform to coordinate collaboration among organizations in different countries and regions, including initiatives in which not every participating institution is based in Canada.
Our programs provide a flexible framework for joint research development, cross-border coordination, knowledge exchange, and the integration of scientific, clinical, computational, and translational perspectives across diverse and evolving healthcare challenges.
Potential formats may include bilateral and multilateral research initiatives, multicentre collaboration, international academic exchange, jointly developed projects, and coordinated programs supported by participating institutions.
A Canada-based platform connecting researchers and institutions to facilitate bilateral and multilateral research collaboration worldwide.
NBIIC-HI supports the development of international grant applications and collaborative research projects involving Canadian and global partners, as well as bilateral and multilateral initiatives coordinated through its Canada-based platform.
The Institute helps partners clarify research concepts, strengthen project structures, identify suitable collaborators and funding pathways, and coordinate participation across institutions and countries.
Support is tailored to the scientific objectives, development stage, institutional requirements, partnership structure, and potential funding pathway of each initiative.
NBIIC-HI's role is to strengthen the scientific and collaborative foundations of promising projects while respecting the administrative, ethical, financial, legal, and regulatory responsibilities of participating institutions.
Refining research questions, scientific objectives, innovation potential, and translational significance.
Developing coherent research plans, work packages, milestones, implementation pathways, and clearly defined collaborative roles.
Connecting projects with relevant researchers, clinicians, universities, hospitals, research institutions, technical platforms, and innovation partners across countries.
Identifying relevant funding directions and aligning project concepts with appropriate program priorities, partnership requirements, and eligibility considerations.
Facilitating communication, documentation, responsibility allocation, and cross-border coordination among participating organizations.
Supporting the scientific organization, presentation, and coordination of selected collaborative grant applications and research proposals.
NBIIC-HI serves as a coordinating and enabling platform rather than replacing the scientific, ethical, financial, legal, regulatory, or administrative responsibilities of participating institutions.
Our Canada-based platform may support collaboration involving Canadian and international organizations or facilitate bilateral and multilateral initiatives among partners located in different countries.
We work with participating organizations to strengthen research frameworks, establish meaningful partnerships, define appropriate roles, and pursue suitable funding and translational opportunities.
All initiatives are developed in accordance with responsible research principles, applicable institutional requirements, and appropriate ethical, regulatory, professional, and international standards.
NBIIC-HI welcomes preliminary enquiries from universities, hospitals, research institutions, investigators, clinical teams, healthcare organizations, and innovation partners seeking to develop international research programs, cross-border projects, collaborative grant initiatives, or translational partnerships.
